Well it was another great weekend of racing, this time in Hong Kong! I ended up taking 2nd place in the 5 round final with a finishing score of 14 points to minchans 15! This was a big accomplishment for me because I finally feel like I've finally overcome the stress I get when flying against such great talent in an all important race like the finals. It's important to remember that there are always lessons to be learned in fpv drone racing and in my case the lesson of staying focused under pressure and flying your own race is one I could have only learned through what is probably one of the greatest rivalries this growing sport has ever had! I also want to congratulate @milkfpv for kicking our butts in the international open taking 1st place with @park_sung_ju_fpv in 2nd. Yo @minchan_fpv maybe we shouldn't take each other out in the first three rounds of racing 😂. Another special shoutout to @andreferreirafpv and @steph_fpv for running pit crew for me throughout the entire race! I couldn't have done it without you guys changing my props and keeping my batteries charged! In the end this was a really fun race and a big learning experience for me. Just one more big race left of 2018 and my last chance to beat minchan this year is in Birmingham U.K December 1-2! Well...my win in Korea is bittersweet. While I had the opportunity to fly against two talented Korean pilots, quad issues kept @minchan_fpv out of the finals. When you don’t get to fly against the best it doesn’t feel like a real win. MinChan, I share this win with you! My battle to beat the best is to be continued! Either way I'm super happy to have won the 2018 FAI Gwacheon World Cup drone race here in South Korea and I want to take this moment to thank all of the people who have supported me. First off a huge thanks to Zachry Thayer @a_nubfpv for the amazing spotting throughout the elimination rounds and for keeping me calm when facing some of the insane competition! Secondly I want to thank all of my amazing sponsors for helping me continue to pursue my dream of being the best drone racer in the world. I couldn't have done this without you guys! I also want to thank SungJu Park @park_sung_ju_fpv and his wonderful parents for the amazing hospitality this last week ! Well the first week of my stay in Korea is almost over, and in the past 4 days alone I've flown over 200 packs getting up at 8am and flying till sunset each day! My @xhoverllc Vanover frames have held up great to the abuse of metal gates and the constant midairs with @park_sung_ju_fpv ! Super happy to have taken 1st place in the @multigp south central regional finals here in Dallas this weekend! Even though it was pouring down liquid sunshine during and in between heats, and winds gusting over 30+mph towards the end, it still felt good to be racing at home and to be flying such an amazing track like the regional finals track. Congratulations to @mcgap_ for pushing me the whole day and taking a close 2nd place and for @itwillbefun.fpv for taking a well earned 3rd place!
